Bite Guard

Here's the low down on how your bite affects your athletic performance:

If your bite has not been optimized with a PPM or a PPE, your cranium will not be centered over your spine. This causes your shoulders to not be at right angles to your spine. This causes your rib cage to not be symmetrical. This decreases lung capacity and negatively affects an athlete's stamina. A decrease in lung capacity also decreases oxygenation to the brain. This decreases an athlete's ability to concentrate and focus while under stress. Adaptive mechanisms in the spine react to skeletal structures not being parallel to the axis of gravity with Scoliotic curvature. Scoliosis of the spine causes an unstable pelvis, which tips the hips to one side (this decreases an athlete's speed and agility). Angulated hips lead to unstable knees and unstable knees cause an unstable foot to ground platform from which poor athletic performance flows.

Unbalanced bites lead to head and neck tension. This tension tips the head causing one shoulder to be lower than the other.

Injuries to the hips, knees, ankles and feet will be more frequent if the hips are not aligned properly do to a non-optimized bite.

The Purepower corporation has developed two products designed to give athletes who use these innovative products a measurable advantage over their competition. The Purepower Mouthguard (PPM) is computer -designed rubberized mouthpiece worn on the upper teeth for use in high impact sports such as football basketball, hockey, soccer and martial arts.
